I've made some good progress on connecting my Linux and NT machines so far.  But I am still having some problems and was hoping you could point me in the right direction.

I am finally able to see my Samba Server (called Pankil) along with my NT workgroup in NT's Net. Neighborhood.  When I double-click on Pankil it opens up and shows:  Homes & Printers directories, and the printer icons for lp, ljet, and printers.  If I open the Printers directory it opens but is blank.  Trying to open the Homes directory gives the msg, "\\Pankil\homes is not accessible.  The network name cannot be found."  Clicking any of the printer icons starts the printer installation, but I'm not able to print anything.  Right clicking and trying to access Properties on these icons gives the same message as for the Homes directory.

Now, if "the network name cannot be found" how and why is it being listed in Net. NHood at all?!?  Do I need to supply some kind of password in samba for this?

The second problem is that I am able to ping, ftp, and telnet from my NT machine to Linux.  However, from Linux I am only able to ping to NT--ftp and telnet gives the msg, "Unable to connect to remote host.  Connection refused."  Do I need to configure something (*.conf files, etc.) on the Linux machine, or is this a Microsuck "feature"?

Any help is appreciated.
