Taking the risk not to get any answer, and since you boys and girls seem to be the
only unix-related people with commun sence, I put this question overhere. Afterall
you guy's helped me out before.
A while ago I installed RH5.1.
Thanks to you, it workes just fine.
Now, recently, I got the Solaris CD-set for x86.
It installed just fine, but .. alsways a but isn't it ?
I guess that the vidiocard is not recognised correctly.
Indeed, the card I use (a S3 Trio 64 UV+, 2Mb) is not in the list they supply for
choosing out from.
At this time, I aready tried every S3 card in the list, and almost every other option
that seemed reasonable to me.
Non of them worked, I get a very fast , small message saying something like
"Unrecognizable S3 chip" , then I get some "flashes" and finnaly the screen stays
black. Seem there is no way out of this exept to reboot and start all over ...
Anyone over here with a solid advise ?
