I dont have your model of S3 i have a S3 Trio64V+ with 4 mb. I had troubles
with my card, it was not supported by my version of the server. After an
upgrade it worked.

I suggest you take a look at

INSTALL.TXT on a Redhat cdrom.

The most important URL (cant find the proper URL) would be xfree itself, its
something like xfree86.org.
