Just to be clear, do you really type in an *address* or do you type in a *name* that has to be resolved via DNS? If the second, then try the first and see if responsiveness changes. If it does, you have a DNS problem; if it doesn't, you don't. But it's not productive to spend time in detailed analysis until you know this much about where the problem lies. Also ... is the problem only with Netscape or do other Internet service clients have the problem as well? Can you telnet, for example? Ping? Where in the process does Netscape stop?
