The 'average' Win user who decides to upgrade to Linux is not stupid.
Also most people take the time to learn the basic gist of Linux before
switching. No one comes in so clueless as to think dos commands will work
in Linux.

The real cause for 'newbie' questions is laziness not ignorance. In a
few instances Netscape or whatever browser may not be working but
generally that is not the case. Case in point Netscape with RH comes
with the homepage pointing to a help menu, from which the HOWTOS can be
accessed. This assumes the user installed the HOWTOs, and I think some
dist includes a link to the HOWTOs on the CD.

The Man pages are another beast, they are very confusing and bereft of
examples.
