I'd be willing to try LyX.... only there's one problem: I don't know
where to get it, how to install it, if it needs to be built, etc.
I did a search and I'm going to try WordPerfect 8 for Linux
(http://linux.corel.com), which can be downloaded. In fact, a friend of
mine has downloaded it for himself, and got it on CD-ROM, so I may just
borrow that and save the download.
I hear all you have to do is tar -xzvf it and run the install file.
