But thats my opinion I tried them both and liked gnome more.

I like Window Maker it looks and behaves a little like MacOS. You can get rid 
of the clip and dock and use GNOME Midnight Commander for your desktop files.

There is also a Window Manager called MLVWM that looks exactly like a Mac 
I've never tried it
