Latest Krnl and Cirrus Logic + X

I got out of Linux for a little while (needed windows for school) but now
Im back!
        What is the latest version of Red Hat, and what the latest (stable) kernel
out?

        I have a Cirrus Logic CL-GD5428 Video card and I remeber I had to
do some extra editing to get X to work in 24bit mode.  There was a file
that told me how to do this (named something like Cirrus...), but I can
Not find this file..anybody know where it is?
