Many systems won't boot with that setup. Have you had the machine working
previously with this config? Hard drives are normally put on the primary
controller in order to use the higher speed UDMA which is only on the
primary controller. UDMA is NOT used on either of those CD devices so why
not move them to the secondary controller and put the hard drive on the
primary to use the increased throughput? This MAY also be why the
partition check is failing.
