Hi Mandy, I didn't see the original response so won't respond to the above.
Don't know which windows manager you're using either. I use KDE and in it,
you use one of the templates to create a new desktop icon (actually two in
one, mounted and unmounted). The device should be /dev/fd0 and the mount
point could be /mnt/dosfloppy. It also should contain the filesystem type,
either msdos or vfat in the device properties.
