Scanners

Hi All,

I am not really sure if this fits in with being a linux newbie or not.......but
here goes, i apologize it this is off topic!

Is there any software that allows you to hook a scanner up??  I know i saw
in the manual that there is no support for scanners, but ppl have to be
scanning out there dont they?? lol  If anyone can point me in the right
direction i would appreciate it!!
