As far as I read, the Pine docs on their website said something about
changing the "lockfile" mechanism (what is a lockfile?) such that it
requres 1777 permissions on the /var/spool/mail directory.  I have no idea
what that means-- but I do know that something changed to make that an
error.

Now, I need to find out just what is changing the permissions from 1777 to
something else (drwxrwxr-x) on me.
