I have heard this too. However, the same source mentions that upgrading the BIOS or
replacing the motherboard does the trick. Apparently the K6 and certain MBs don't
get along. I had this problem on both linux and windows, but changing the
motherboard fixed it. I now have a system that "rocks." Definitely go with the AMD!
