Hi,
I am not sure if I have side-tracked from your question but FYI, I am
running Linux (Slackware 3.6 but not RedHat) on a K6-2 300Mhz on an Asus
P5A-B motherboard with 64Mb SDRAM. I don't see any problems like
freezing etc. The only thing that is currently limiting my progress is
just my lack of knowledge about Linux which I just bought a book to
enhance!!!
Best Regards,
tkotam

I have heard this too. However, the same source mentions that
upgrading the BIOS or
replacing the motherboard does the trick. Apparently the K6 and
certain MBs don't
get along. I had this problem on both linux and windows, but
changing the
motherboard fixed it. I now have a system that "rocks."
Definitely go with the AMD!
