During install, Linux is unable to find the mouse. When I had Win95 on it, of
which I wiped the entire disk to get a clean install of Red Hat, the mouse was
on Com 2. During the install, it faile to probe my mouse which is a standard
generic 3 button mouse. I set it to DOS Com 2 in both mouseconfig AND
XF86Setup. In mouseconfig, I chose generic 3 button serial mouse on com 2 and
com 1. In XF86Setup, I chose Microsoft mouse and com 1 and 2 and it still
locks up in X Windows and only option I have is Reset the system.
I am running Red Hat V5.2 on a old DOS Box that is a 486 100mhz 32mb ram on a
1.6gig hd.
I reinstalled it again and same thing, "UNABLE TO PROBE MOUSE". The mouse did
work without a problem in Win95 and I do see during boot that it loads the 2
ports as well. Any suggestions? Anyone help?
