I'm playing with the idea of installing redhat on a server my organization just purchased. It has a raid controller and Linux doesn't see it. Only if its on the primary onboard SCSI (AHA7800). Is there anyway to get it to see the Raid and use those HDs during a new install? Or do I have to keep a drive on the Onboard controller and then maybe the Raid? This is going to be a big primary server, 512M memory, Hopfully 63G HD space, 7x9G drives. Any suggestions for a box this size as far as swap space (if any) and how much should be given to /, /usr, /var? Whats the best configurations any one has run into? Thanks for all your help in the past and the future.
