After upgrading(?) from Red Hat 5.0 to 5.1 pppd is acting strange. ppp starts with no problems, but does not set itself as default route. I did a complete fdisk and reinstall, and same problems. Right after boot if I get the route table I show the local routes. after ppp comes up if I type "route" it freezes that console. If I manually add routes to the other end of the ppp connection and then add default routes to those I am able to access the rest of the world.
