It should work, and if it doesn't then it is because netscape dont want
it to work (they must have put some code that prevent this). did you try
hard linking (if your home is on the same partition ...).

How can I make it possible for 2 users to share the same bookmark file
(ie
me and root). I made a symbolic link to one of the bookmark files, but
when I try to write to the symbolic link, it changes back to the regular
bookmark file. Is there a way to redirect writes to a symbolic link so
that it writes to the source file?
