That's the error message you get if lpr (or is it lpd? not important) can't
find an entry for the specified printer in /etc/printcap . (Since you don't
specify a printer in the lpr line, it's looking for "default"). So take a
look at /etc/printcap and see if you've set it up for your printer. If you
used a name other than default, you'll need to run lpr something like this:

lpr -Pmyprintername filename

"man lpr" for the details.
