First, thanks are in order to all of you who have
replied and tried to help me with the limited info I
have given. It is my own Linux-newness that is to
blame. Here is a more detailed account of my most
recent try to install the Banshee drivers.

login as root

#mount /dev/fd0/mnt
mount: can't find/dev/fd0/mnt in /etc/mtab or
/etc/fstab
#mmount
Usage:mmount -V drive:
#mdir

XFree8~1 RPM
XFree86_3DFX-rushlib-3_3_3-2_i386_glibc.rpm
XFree8~2 RPM XFree86_3DFX-SVGA-3_3_3-2_i386_glibc.rpm
XFree8~3 RPM
XFree86_3DFX-XF86Setup-3_3_3-2_i386_glibc.rpm

#ls -l /mnt/

drwxrwxr-x 2Root root 1024 Oct 9 1998 cdrom
drwxrwxr-x 2Root root 1024 Feb6 1996 floopy

#rpm -ivh
/mnt/XFree86_3DFX-SVGA-3_3_3-2_i386_glibc.rpm

error: cannot open file
XFree86_3DFX-SVGA-3_3_3-2_i386_glibc.rpm

#rpm -iVh
/mnt/XFree86_3DFX-SVGA-3_3_3-2_i386_glibc.rpm

rpm: only one major mode may be specified

#shutdown -r now

This was my latest attempt. Again, the three files I
have are on a floppy that was made on a Win95 machine.
My machine is an AMD-K6-2 400 w/a dual boot system
running the Personal Ed of System Commander. Linux
and Win98 are the OSes. The system is self-built with
a Mitsumi floppy and Toshiba DVD, Banshee 16MB PCI
video card and SBLive Value (I know this driver won't
be available until the 4th quarter of this yr) If I
need to give more info, please let me know. And thank
you all for your help. You guys are very patient to
deal with me. If you have any ideas for documentation
I should buy, let me know. I have recently purchased
SAMS 'Teach Linux in 24h.'
Best regards- Dave
