Its possably a version dependant problem, but i have had problems with
netscape and Java in the past, my problems were solved by installing the
correct libs, at that time it was gnumalloc.

I am currently using 4.07 which i have had not ptoblems with "yet".
Using 'ldd' i get the following;

        libXt.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6 (0x4000a000)
        libSM.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libSM.so.6 (0x40048000)
        libICE.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so.6 (0x40050000)
        libXmu.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.so.6 (0x40064000)
        libXpm.so.4 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4 (0x40075000)
        libXext.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x40084000)
        libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x4008e000)
        libdl.so.1 => /lib/libdl.so.1 (0x40120000)
        libc.so.5 => /lib/libc.so.5 (0x40123000)
        libg++.so.27 => /usr/ix86-linux/lib/libg++.so.27 (0x401e3000)
        libstdc++.so.27 => /usr/ix86-linux/lib/libstdc++.so.27 (0x40226000)
        libm.so.5 => /lib/libm.so.5 (0x40269000)

Not that that will help much for 4.5 .
