Dave: Take a look at the 3com site, http://www.3com.com. You can download
a manual for your modem from there.
The jumper settings ought to be printed on the back of the modem. I don't
like PNP myself.

~Subject: a modem.

~Hello,
~ Today I was given a 3com USR Sportster 56k data/fax modem.
~Said modem
~had no manual, all I can get is a model number, 0460. It has jumpers, but
~they're all off, so I'm assuming this means it's in pnp mode. Will this
~modem work under linux?
~Thanks.
~Dave.
