I have 2 Zoom dualmode v.90 external modems. 1 is on my RedHat server v 5.0
set up using mgetty but cannot seem to get it to negotiate faster than 33.6.
The other I am using from a PC to dial into and make a PPP connection to my
Linux server. On the PC side I am using AT&F. I have tried AT&F on the
server but all I get connected is 33.6. What else can I try?
I have tried another PC & modem as well but cannot get them to negotiate
faster than 33.6. I can dial into an ISP from the PC and connect at 42,000
most of the time.
I have scoured the web looking for information but have found no strings for
fast modems & Linux. It seems all the info is for 28800 max.
Also, I just don't understand AT command set and when to use what no matter
how long I study that list of commands so please speak plainly to me re
this.
Does anyone have such init strings for higher speed modems?
