Vox-  Having watched linux newbies for several weeks, yours is the first
inquiry aside from my own (no responses) about TurboLinux I have seen.

If your machine works on win9x, the plug & play feature probably undoes
the IRQ conflict.  Anyhow, before you startx, log on as root and run
turbopnpcfg.  If you get error messages or it does not help, you
probably have one of the infamous winmodems that will never work on
linux (or even DOS or OS/2).  There are sources regularly mentioned in
newbies for lists of winmodems, but the easiest thing to do is to invest
a few $ in another modem.

By the way, if you bought the Walnut Creek CD rom's, you need to look at
the Turbolinux web site FAQ's for instructions for installing the
WordPerfect that came with them - it's really nice.

I'll be interested to hear about your luck with printing once you get
going..
