>From what I understand, TCO figures are only reliable if you compare them to
other TCO's from the *same* accountant.  Total costs are very subjective
figures that are used primarily to convince the boss that one product is better
than the other.

Linux will have a relatively lower TCO than NT because of lack of license fees.
On the other hand, NT has a relatively lower TCO since NT specialists are a
dime a dozen.
