Maximal mount count is nothing to do with the size of the partition.
Every time an ext2 filesystem is mounted, a mount count flag in the
filesystem header is increased.  When this reaches a certain value (you
can set it with tune2fs), the partition should be checked for errors -
most distributions check this at boot time by running fsck.  It is nothing
to worry about.
