If it is not working like this:
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
Error: Can't open display: :0.0
You need to [install] [configure] [start] X, and run it from an xterm.
It is an X application, and won't work on a text console.
If it is not working some other way, maybe if you tell us what way that
is, we could help. You can probably capture the error message with
lisa &>oops, then just include oops in your next letter, first checking
that it is a text file of reasonable size :-)
For the soundcard, I hope someone else can help you.
