Win Modem

I am one of those unfortunate ppl to have bought a WinModem( PCI, RockWell
chipset, 56 kbps ) with my HP Pavilion 6460 system. Can Linux talk to this
Windoze compliant device. Lemme know cause I am contemplating buying a new
modem if the above is not possible.
