Unfortunatly you do not say which distribution you are trying to install,
slackware for example has 'pcmcia.gz' in /cdrom/rootdsks/ along side
color.gz.
Redhat-6.0 has 'pcmcia.img' in /cdrom/images/
Redhat-5.0 has 'supp.img'
I would imagen other distro's follow suit as well.
