Hm... Sounds like you may want to check out your inetd daemon, and ensure
that in.telnetd is installed and works, and also, ensure that Win98 box is
in /etc/hosts.allow... Also, make sure that your Windows box is telnetting
to the regular telnet port (port number 23), and that it is using the
proper IP address on your network.
If you have your system set up pretty much out of the box, then your
settings *should* be just fine, except that you may have not installed the
proper daemons for incoming connections (in.telnetd and/or inetd, for
example.)
Also, just FYI, you may want to find a telnet program that will work with
color ANSI, because otherwise, you're stuck with a B&W terminal, no matter
what happens. Not always good, depending on the type of console programs
you use.
