Thanks for the previous help before. I've now got samba working with my NT and
Win98 machines, plus Linux can now see my modem! :-)

I now have a couple of questions:

1) How do I get emacs to work in the RH6.0 Server installation?

        # whereis emacs yields
        emacs: /usr/lib/emacs /usr/share/emacs /usr/man/man1/emacs.1

        but when I do
        # emacs
        bash: emacs: command not found

but, when I did a RH6.0 workstation install, emacs works fine.
I'm assuming that some type of link or alias is missing. I checked "man emacs"
but didn't see anything that would cover "command not found"

2) Using GnoRPM in RH6.0, what happened to the option that was called
"Available" in RH5.2?

Under RH5.2, I was able to work around the above emacs problem doing
a Workstation install, then going to X and grabbing the Available"
packages like Samba that I thought I needed. Now, I don't see how to
get a list of the uninstalled packages, select those I want and install
them.

I'm assuming I'm missing some easy steps on both of these.

TIA for any help you can give,

Dick.

BTW, after waiting 6 months, USWest has finally said they're ready to supply
DSL to me. I'm sure I'll be back here asking for help on that! :-)
