What you need to do is use INBOX for the path to the mailbox, then read
man fetchmail :-). Fetchmail will get your POP3 mail and then download it
to your box. Also, be sure to *PROPERLY* configure the Pine configuration
screen, or you risk (A) not getting mails out, or (B) losing service with
your ISP, both of which have happened to me before. Also note that you
must use a username on your local computer that is the *SAME* as the
username on your email address (e.g., the part before the "@" sign.).

Dunno about those... but I'm willing to help you with anything you need...
PINE is my only (and favorite) email program on a 486 with a 3.5gb drive.
(Just FYI, I *HATE* graphical interfaces because (a) they're inefficient,
and (b) it's too much overhead --- it won't let me do other things at the
same time :).
