This is correct as far as it goes, but I thought it might be worth a
moment's time to say *why* it works. Runlevel 5 will either run directly a
program called "xdm" or run a script that calls "xdm". xdm is an app that
starts X and provides a login window for it. Others may want to note that
it's not runlevel 5 for all Linuxes -- on Slackware, it's runlevel 4.
