Chris,
        You need to mount the cdrom
1) mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /some/mnt/dir

2) Then, I copy the apache.tar.dz (are you sure it is not a .gz file)
to /usr/local or where ever you prefer to compile it.  
3) unzip and untar the file tar -zxvf apache.tar.d(g)z

After that, you will need to compile the source.  Follow the README and
INSTALL files.
