Could Linux serve a win98 network a DOS program? I am
currently using NT to serve our network it's accounting
program. It also dials up to a remote win98 machine running
the remote dial-up server. This allows us to map the remote
printer to the win98 machines and print from the order entry
part of the DOS program.
If I replaced the NT machine with Linux, would the DOS program
still execute on the Win98 machines? Would I have to create a
DOS partition to put the accounting program in?
1. I want to be able to serve the win98 network. (Samba)
2. dial-up the remote machine, connect to it's printer, and allow
all machines on the win98 network to map the remote printer.
3. Allow the Win98 machines to execute the DOS program.
i read the samba docs so i know i can use it like a NT Domain
server, but I didn't find out wether i could put DOS programs
on the linux box that would run on remote clients.
