I was partially aware of this -- I remember being told this before, but
wasn't totally sure about it. In that case, I'd need a serial multiport
device of some sort -- what is out there in that department that is
inexpensive?
Also, where could I find such hardware?

If I had older PCs, or even knew where to look for them, I'd have that one
accomplished, more than likely, if I could find an ARCNet card that would
work on an IRQ that I have to have. The ARCNet cards that I have now all
conflict IRQs with other things (serial ports, sound card, and the
parallel port).

Ouchie! I don't have enough CPU bandwidth for that one... as I understand
it, it would be a good idea to have a 200MHz+ machine for such a thing.
All I need is two or three additional text terminals (preferably the real
thing, that supports things like underline and so forth) like the VT102.
I don't have the computers for a terminal emulator, and I still don't have
a serial multiple port solution that I know of that I can afford...
