I don't know what a menu shell is, I just know I don't like 'em. :-)
Folks seem to think highly of mc. Actually, it does seem fairly
competent and convenient. You can run it from /etc/passwd, or from
.bash_profile. If you run it from passwd, the user can run commands,
but can not exit from mc or log out (at least I couldn't find a way, but
I tend to get lost and feel trapped in menus). I think it would be
nicer to run it from .bash_profile. See how you like it. I think it's
pretty much standard in any distro. If not, I found it once. I can
find it again. :-)
