Do you mean a shell that operates with a text menu, like a lot of old DOS
shells used to be? I do recall one like it on SuSE., but I can't remember it's
name. Doesn't CLI mc also have menuing capabilities? However, instead of
changing the default shell, couldn't you just change the .bashrc to start up the
menuing program?
