Oke, i saw an email answering that question after i sent mine, but if you
still need the information, here it is:

install first the qt-1.44 package, then the kdesupport package, then
kde-libs package and then kde-base-package. Any other package can be
installed in any order.

Someone mentioned Rpmfind as a source of information on the
>location of specific files, but there has been no response on the order

That i know it about KDE is that the instructions for KDE 1.1 came with my
RedHat 5.2 distribution. I had problems with installing other software
packages and i got to pretty good results with the try-on-error method.
Download all that may be part of the package and then install whatever
works, so long until everything is installed. I found that faster than
farting around in the net to find a solution - but this is my personal way
of doing it.

The newbie-mailinglist is always a good yource for information and many
software packages have their own mailing list (I#m subscribed to the lists
of kvirc, ksirc and licq).
