The default is being set in /etc/skel, I would assume, having been set up by
Redhat during installation. You can change the files there to make KDE the
default for all new user accounts.
However, you can also use "switchdesk". Under the Gnome menus, look for:
KDE Menus->System->Desktop Switching Tool
or something like that. You will be presented with three choices (which can be
changed, look up the switchdesk docs): AnotherLevel, Gnome and KDE.
I find it ironic that switchdesk is in a KDE menu, but not in a Gnome menu. Was
Redhat thinking that people would want to switch to Gnome from KDE, but never
vice-versa? Doubly ironic, switchdesk is a Gnome program!
