Whenever you change lilo.conf, or move any of the files it refers to,
you must rerun lilo.

You probably need to be root to do that.  Probably, you know that.  The
way you have set up lilo, if you want to _use_ lilo, you also need to
set /dev/sda5 as your bootable partition with fdisk.  I don't know scsi,
but you can't do that with IDE.  IDE only has 4 bootable partitions,
plus the MBR.  If scsi is the same way, the simplest way might be to
install lilo on the mbr:  change /etc/lilo.conf to say

boot = /dev/sda

and rerun lilo.

if lilo can get at /boot using the BIOS, that will work.  If it can't,
it will tell you, and we can take some other evasive measures.
