> How do I install the .rpm files ?.

Rpm files are files made up according to the "redhat package manager". The
rpm command knows what to do with them, so do a 'man rpm'.

> ktelnet-0_61.tgz
> kmp3-0_2_2_tar.gz

These files are archive files without any auto-install stuff. 'tgz' means
"tar and gzip", and 'gz' means "gzipped".

Tar is an old standard for packaging several files into one - it stands for
"tape archive". gzip does file compression. I think it sands for gnu's
implementation of the zip algorithim. the gz command understands both of
these file types, I think.

Unpack them into a separeate directory using gz (see 'man gz' for info), and
then look for a readme file indicating how to o the install by hand.

If you don't know how to use gzip, you might be better off looking for a
telnet and kmp that comes in an rpm package.
