Blank Passwords

Hi All Just a quick question
I am Running Redhat 6 with standard non MD5 Non Shadow passwords
I would like to set it up so that I can have a user without a password
In Redhat 5.2 it was easy I could just delete the password in the
/etc/passwd file But when I do that in 6 It gives me login failed right
after that
