Ok. I have linux up and am using netscapeat home and I'm not real happy with
it.
1 - how do I download news messgaes for offline browsing? There does not
seem to be a thing inside NS that does it. Do I have to start up a news
server on the box and then point netscape at localhost?
2 - editing messages is really frustrating to someone who is accustomed to
windows. Whatever the problems with the windows Kernel, they got the GUI
right. Most particularly : how do I get the number pad cursor keys working?
Is there some sort of keymap that will treat a numpad up arrow like an up
arow? I grew up with XT keyboards and dont like the AT layout.
3 - NS under linux just looks ugly. I cant put my finger on excatly what it
is. Maybe the fonts or something.
4 - I don't use the chanel bar and all that nonsense inside windows. I don't
need six different ways to start up a program. KDE is overkill: there is the
desktop, the bar, the K button on the bar which has a list of programs. It
seems "all over the place". Buried inside my K menus is kppp, which is
something I _will_ use. I'd like to move it onto the desktop. Any idea how?
How does K compare with gnome?
