hi, all:

my friend has upgraded his redhat box from 5.2 to 6.0. Anyhow, he got some
problem now. Everytime it boots, it hangs a long time during these steps:

====== booting info ==========

cannot register service RPC: unable to send; errno = Invalid argument

Starting NFS daemon: RPC: Sending returned error 101
RPC: sending returned error 101
 .
 .
 .  3 times
port map: server localhost not responding, time out

RPC: .....

    4 times

portmap: .....

RPC:...

    4 times
=========================================

However, the system boots up after a long hanging and works fine. He has a
stand-alone machine. No nfs service needed in anyway. Can he stop it?
How?

I do not know how solve the problem and have to pass it to you guys. Hope
somebody could show a way out.

Thanks in advance.
