This looks like the culprit here.... 97% of ram used. I've
got a K6-2 300 or 333 (not sure which...it's the machine I
use at work) and it's only got 32 megs of ram and SO takes
a couple minutes to load on it. Given that you're on a P90
and have only slightly more RAM, I"d say you're running
short on resources. You have two options -- upgrade the
processor to something faster (not sure if a P90 mboard
will handle the "modern" Pentium chips or not...) or add
more ram. I'd say, off hand, that the RAM would be cheaper.
You can get an additional 32 megs of ram for about $2 / meg
for 72-pin simms. Give that a shot and see if that doesn't
help.

Gnome (like KDE) is a memory hog. I'd say you have a barely
adequate system for running GNOME *or* KDE. Trying to run
SO on top of that is going to be difficult. You may have to
learn to live with just KOffice (when it comes out.)
