I had similar problem when I first tried to partition my drive with "Ranish
Prtition Manager".  I was using the tool incorrectly.  Is this what you used to
create your partitions?  If so, you may have skipped a step when resizing your
partitions.  You need to change the windows partition size, then high-light the
partition and press "Enter".  This brings you to another screen where you have
to set the new size again.
  Of course, if you don't use Ranish' Partition Manager, this won't be the
problem.  :)
