First, the answer:
Yes, it could be because you changed the hostname, especially if you didn't
do it right. For instance, if you modified /etc/sysconfig/network but NOT
/etc/hosts
Secondly, to the group at large:
Two things need to happen. 1) Put this question in the FAQ. 2) Send the FAQ
out AT LEAST monthly, if not weekly. Who is the person in charge of the
linux-newbie FAQ?
