If you changed the hostname of the machine and did not change it in
/etc/hosts then sendmail will not know who you are and will want to
find that out, it will do that via a DNS lookup, now quite possably
you do not have an inet connection st this point, so you will need to
wait untill senmdail times out.
After startup either change your hosts file or stop sendmail starting
before you are connected to the net and have DNS access.
