Caveat to viewing TIFF fax files in GIMP (or other graphics apps): that will
only work for single-page faxes, as I understand it. I don't use faxes, so
I'm not perfectly clear on this. As I understand it, if you try to view a
multipage fax in a regular graphics app, you'll only see the first page. A
special fax-viewing program is needed to view the additional pages. Hence,
the need for that Windoze-only app. (I read that one of the online fax
services also provides a Mac version.)

I imagine _somebody_ will come up with a Linux version eventually.
